Brain and Learning Week 2

This week's assignment was to find two website and/or online journals that spoke to the subject of the brain and learning, information processing theory and problem-solving methods during the learning process. The two websites that I chose are http://www.edpsycinteractive.org/topics/cogsys/infoproc.html and en.wikipedia.org/wiki/learning_theory_(education).

I have often explored wikipedia for various information and found the source to be creditable in its content. Wikipedia also has links on its site that allow the learner to explore deeper as they get into the information. It has a wealth of knowledge on any topic.

The first link that I posted is a site that deals with the brain and learning, the information processing approach to cognition. This site features a model that allows you to visually look at long and short term memory and how the brain processes the information.

Week 1- EDUC-6115-5 Learning Theories and Instruction

Welcome to the Blogger. I have been challenged by my professor to create a blog site because I am pursuing my degree in Instructional Design. This blog site will allow me to become more familiar with Instructional Design. I will take a look at three different blog sites within this post about Instructional Design. I will tell why I feel these sites are sites that are important in the area of Instructional Design.

Site # 1

I came across a Blog Site that is being administered by DePaul University. I felt that this was a good site because it is making the faculty aware of the new and transitioning technology available. Also this site is useful in the field of Instructional Design because it provides articles each month on the developing technologies that are available. A brief description of this site is provided below. The site called Instructional Design and Development (IDD) is now Faculty Instructional Technology Services (FITS). With their new name comes a broadened scope of services specifically targeted to faculty. These services include not only instructional design and development, but also faculty technology training and support.

Site #2

This second blog was a great site that I came across. The site contains a wealth of information on Instructional Design. The Langevin Learning Services is a company whose motto is “train the trainer”. The site has several articles on instructional design, training for instructional designers, ways to add excitement to training, how adults learn, evaluation of training and the list goes on and on. I recommend this site as a resource because I will continue to go back and find relevant information as it relates to instructional design. The link for this site is http://www.langevin.com/blog/tag/instructional-design/

Site #3

http://lasanthiprasadi.blogspot.com/

This blog is about intructional design. The author of this blog title deals with the practice of maximizing the effectiveness, efficiency and appeal of instruction and other learning experiences. The blog has articles that deal with Instructional Design for ELearning approaches, learning theories and innovative learning.
